Over two centuries ago the foundation stone of Mandir Palace was laid by Maharawal Moolrajji when the temples of Shri Ram and Shri Girdhariji were built along with the Palace complex around the temples. He and his successors subsequently made several additions to this magnificent Palace. The latest and the most beautiful portion of Mandir Palace known as the ‘Jawahir Vilas’ was built by Maharawal Jawahir Singhji in the beginning of the twentieth century. Mandir Palace is well-known for its fine stone carvings. Its architecture is Indo- Saracenic : a blend of the Rajput style and some Islamic patterns that were carried to Jaisalmer through the caravans from Afghanistan & Persia. Recently, Raj Kumar Dr. Jitendra Singh grandson of Maharawal Jawahir Singhji and owner of Mandir Palace transformed this Palace into a premier heritage hotel. He welcome's you to his home.

Mandir palace magnificent architecture is the best in Jaisalmer! The hotel has a well maintained pool and a lovely roof top restaurant as well with fort view! It was managed by MR BhojRaj Singh who displayed immense hospitality and went out of his way to help me arrange a surprise rooftop candle light dinner for our anniversary!

he rooms are inside the palace - so can't beat the location. and lovely setting of the palace. The rooms are nice but nothing particularly special for heritage property. Pool needed a bit of extra attention for cleaning. Staff were amazing and set up a roof top dining for us and good was great. Lucky to pretty much have the place to ourselves in the off season!
Step into the carpal is a step into the luxurious life of the past. The hotel staff are most courteous and yet friendly. The rooms and facilities are spacious and beautifully appointed. Great pool in heat and the Rooftop Terrace Restaurant must be experienced.
